Giving back to our community

UNITED WAY CAMPAIGN FOR 2009 $27,398!!!

Sine 1991 our organization and employees have contributed more than $250,000 to the Monadnock United Way. All Fenton
Family Dealership's employee pledges are matched dollar for dollar by the Dealership. This year alone (2009), our employees
pledged $13,699. With the Dealership match it beings our total to $27,398! Last years total donation was $26,000 and our
goal for this year was $26,500. We beat last year by $1,398 and this years goal by $898!

What is the Monadnock United Way?

Founded in 1952, the Monadnock United Way is an autonomous and independent organization
governed by a Board of community members. Our accountability is to our local volunteers and
donors. Decisions on which programs to fund and all other operating and policy decisions are
made here in the Monadnock Region. Although the Monadnock United Way is best known for
conducting an annual campaign which providesfunding for needed services to people in the
region, community building represents an equally major effort. Monadnock United Way
collaborates with a variety of partners to help identify and address emerging issues and
specific human service needs. These partners include social service providers,
foundations, local government, education and the medical community.

COMMUNITY KITCHEN DONATION FOR 2010:  $34,864!!
The Community Kitchen has long been a charity choice for the Fenton Family. We have sponsored a
Charity Golf Tournament each summer for the past 18 years bringing in $25-$30,000 each year for the
kitchen. Providing healthy meals to individuals and families is such a fundamental need to those
who can't provide for themselves.

WHAT IS THE COMMUNITY KITCHEN?
It started out as a soup kitchen in 1983 with a couple dozen volunteers and support from local churches and friends. They
served soup to 25 people in a church basement and as time passed and more people came,it was quickly discovered that
the soup kitchen's offering was the only daily meal for some of its guests.Today, 26 years later, The Community Kitchen
has become a helpful hand to more than 12,000 hungry people in the Monadnock Region. Of the 952,700 meals provided
last year, over 60% went to children under the age of 19. They anticipate serving 1.2 million meals this year. The families
seeking food assistance are not just the homeless. Most are the working poor desperately trying to feed their children and
many upper middle class parents who have recently suffered family upset through divorce, health issues or job loss.
"The children affected is our main concern. They are helpless to provide for themselves; yet these same children are
our country's future. They need good nutrition and adequate food choices to properly grow and develop into healthy
productive adults. These children need everyone's help."
