2015 Elantra receives a NHTSA 5-Star Overall Safety Rating

The government's National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) conducts vehicle testing each year to give consumers information about crashworthiness, collision avoidance and other areas that improve the safety of new vehicles. The 2015 Elantra has received NHTSA's highest overall safety rating for 2015.

The goal: Find the best moderately priced midsize sedan a budget-conscious family can buy. The entrants were strictly limited to $27,000 on the sticker, including destination fees, and also had to offer good gas mileage - a minimum government rating of 28 miles per gallon.

The Challenge put 10 of the most popular midsize sedans against each other in a series of expert and car shopper testing to determine which was the overall best-in-class. This was my second Hyundai as I traded a 2013 Azera in on the Genesis. The car is a wonder. It has so many features it took me a few days to figure them all out. But on a purely subjective assessment the exterior exudes "luxury". The fit and finish are up to luxury car standards.
