2010 ELANTRA

ADVERTISE YOUR I.Q., NOT YOUR INCOME.
Boasting the most interior room in its class, the security of America's Best Warranty(1), and an economical 35 miles per gallon on the highway(2), the versatile 2010 Hyundai Elantra is an easy choice for those born with more intelligence than money.
The longer you drive it, the more you'll love it.

Elantra. It knows how to live large.

Elantra lets you pull off a pretty neat trick: Living large while living within your budget. So go ahead,
unlock the door and pop open the trunk with the remote keyless entry. Enter Elantra's spacious cabin
and settle into the six-way driver's seat, upholstered with a premium cloth that holds you comfortably
in place. Turn on the ignition and press the illuminated switch for the power windows. Stash your
water bottle into the big beverage holder in the map pocket and grab your shades from the sunglass
holder. As you adjust the rear-view mirror, look at all the standard features behind you: A 60/40 split
fold-down rear seatback. A rear-seat center armrest with cupholders. Rear seat heater ducts. Now grip
the optional leather-wrapped steering wheel and notice what other high-end items are available on
Elantra. Options include steering-wheel-mounted audio and cruise controls, an advanced navigation
system, heated front seats, a power sunroof and a 4-speed automatic transmission.

PERFORMANCE

WHATEVER COLOR THE PAINT, IT'S GREEN.

At Hyundai, we're always thinking about the driver's environment
both in and out of the car, which is why the Elantra's engine meets
stringent Ultra-Low-Emission Vehicle (ULEV) emissions standards.
In certain states, there's also an available model that meets Partial
Zero Emission Vehicle (PZEV) standard(3)-which puts it in the
same emissions family as hybrid cars like the Toyota Prius.

UN-GAS GUZZLER.

The Hyundai Elantra's efficient 2.0-liter engine delivers up to 35 miles per gallon (2) on the highway
and generates a fleet 138 horsepower and 136 pound-feet of torque(3). (applies to ULEV engine)

Yet that economy doesn't come at the expense of performance. The Elantra's engine offers spirited acceleration, courtesy of dual overhead cams and Continuously Variable Valve Timing, an innovative technology that perfectly times the intake and exhaust valves, which both widens the power band and boosts fuel efficiency at all speeds.

The Hyundai Elantra also offers a choice of transmissions. A precise five-speed manual comes
standard or an available four-speed automatic that utilizes intelligent gear ratios for improved fuel
economy at freeway speeds.

Either way, you get a power plant that's equal parts performance and efficiency.

THE SE: THE ELANTRA LETS ITS HAIR DOWN.

The sporty Hyundai Elantra SE was bred for the open road.
Preferably a long twisting one full of switchbacks and S-curves.

Its agile sport-tuned suspension employs modified dampers, beefier
stabilizer bars, and stiffer springs to reduce body roll, improve
cornering, and increase road feel.

What you'll find is that it's suddenly easier to feel at one with the road.
And to us, that's driver nirvana.

ENGINES MADE LIKE NO OTHER.

Decades ago, Hyundai made a long-term multimillion dollar investment into powertrain research.
It's proven so successful that today we're designing and building engines for other car makers.

So it should come as no surprise that the remarkable quality and reliability of the Elantra's
engine comes not just from its engineering, but from its top-notch construction as well.

Each engine is painstakingly assembled to exacting standards. So exacting, in fact, that as a
final quality check, each engine is run at the factory without fluids. Unless the machining and
assembly are precisely to spec, the engine doesn't leave the factory. Of course, that means
when it does leave, you have an engine worthy of America's Best Warranty(1).

THE ELANTRA IN MOTION

INTERIOR

ROOMIER THAN SOME NEW YORK CITY APARTMENTS.

Trim as it may look from the outside, the Hyundai Elantra offers the most
interior  space (cargo & passenger) among the core competitive set and the
most interior volume in its class - 112 .1 cubic feet. It's so spacious, in fact,
that the government classifies it as a midsize car, though it measures (and is priced) like a compact.

Yet numbers, as they usually do, only tell part of the story. What truly
sets the versatile Elantra apart is the utter versatility of its space, and the
thoughtful little conveniences that help make the interior less like a car
cabin and more like a living room.

There is, for instance, an unbelievably handy foldaway hook beside the front
passenger seat that is perfect for misbehaving purses, backpacks, or
attachés. For storage, no less than ten easy-to-reach compartments have
been placed throughout the interior. These include an in-dash storage box, a
center console,  front door map pockets, and dual seatback pockets, which
we've seen used for snacks, laptops, and an outfield's worth of baseball gloves.

THE FEATURES ARE LUXE, THE PRICE TAG IS NOT.

When it comes to features, the Hyundai Elantra SE is hardly stingy.

Sport-tuned steering and suspension, Electronic Stability Control (ESC) with Traction Control System
(TCS), and remote keyless entry (standard for all trim) all come standard. So do a leather-wrapped
tilt-and-telescopic steering wheel, 16-in alloy wheels, Trip computer, air conditioning, and a crisp
six-speaker 172-watt AM/FM/CD/MP3/XM® audio system3, iPod®/USB and MP3 auxiliary input jack.

There's also cruise control, dual power heated side mirrors, and handy steering
wheel-mounted audio controls. Whew.

Should you get the urge to upgrade, the available Premium Package adds a power sunroof,
and heated front seats. Value has rarely looked or felt so good.

A CAR THAT FITS.
Drive a Hyundai Elantra for a few minutes and you become aware of something
that isn't listed on the window sticker: a sense of ease.

Look around the quiet cabin and you'll notice that the dials are clear, well-placed,
and easy to read. The numerous storage areas are likewise intuitively placed, and
the radio is situated high so you needn't take your eyes off the road while
switching radio stations.

What you're experiencing, of course, is the power of well-implemented ergonomics.

As the Elantra was being developed, its essential usability was studied over the course of demanding 100,000-mile test-drives. Numerous focus groups weighed in on minutiae like the placement of buttons, the positioning of vents, and the angling of seats. The result? A car that needs to be felt as much
as it is seen.

Of course, our engineers are hardly ones to rest on their laurels. They're constantly looking for ways to refine and improve the driver experience, which is
why Hyundai has partnered with some of the finest universities in the world to help us study ergonomics further. That continuing research is leading to
ever better ways to design control panels, seats, trunk spaces, and, well, who knows what else. After all, engines and transmissions are hardly the only
things that can push a car forward.

SAFETY

OUR FAVORITE ACRONYM.

We're talking, of course, about Electronic Stability Control(4). The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration calls ESC the single most important
safety advancement since the seatbelt. If widely deployed, it could save 10,000 lives a year.

Needless to say, it comes standard on the Elantra SE, along with ABS.

ESC works with our Traction Control System and uses computer-controlled braking of individual wheels to help keep the car from skidding and leaving the road during emergency maneuvers. The goal: to help prevent an accident from occurring in the first place. Think of it as a ton of prevention.

SAFETY FEATURES GALORE

A list of the Hyundai Elantra's standard safety features reads like a catalog of safety technologies.

You get six airbags, of course, including two advanced front airbags, two front seat-mounted side-impact airbags, as well as two side-curtain airbags.
According to the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, this
combination of airbags can reduce fatalities by 45%.

Then there are the four-wheel, four-channel ABS brakes, enhanced with Electronic Brake-force Distribution. Together, they seamlessly vary and adjust brake pressure to each wheel, as necessary, to provide maximum braking power and to help prevent wheel lockup during
emergency maneuvers or under slippery road conditions.

Active front head restraints? Check.
Seatbelt positioners? Check.

LATCH child-seat anchors, energy-absorbing steering column, and a Tire Pressure Monitoring System to help prevent dangerous under inflation?
Check, check, and check.

About the only thing we haven't included is an exorbitant markup for all this technology. Life may be priceless, but peace of mind needn't be expensive.
